Clyde Griffith

Clyde has more than 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry and more than 10 years of experience in the Mining industry in Suriname. He is currently an independent consultant focused on Upstream Oil/ Gas, Mining and Logistics

He has a master’s degree in Petroleum Geology and an MBA in Leadership and Management.During his career, he has been involved in several projects, such as:

Onshore projects: Exploration and Development projects in Staatsolie (preliminary studies, coordination of operations and evaluation).

Offshore projects: Exploration activities drilling of wells, seismic acquisition (2D/ 3D), magnetometry/ gravimetry projects in Staatsolie (prospects assessments studies, coordination of operations and evaluation).

Setting up the Minerals Institute Suriname: this includes coordination of the revision of existing law products, Strategic Environment & Social Assessment, HR processes description and implementation, institutional strengthening, change management, etc

 EITI Suriname as National Coordinator.

Besides these projects, Clyde has also been involved in several activities, such as: Member of the Commission Rehabilitation Alcoa/ Suralco Mines, Member of the Presidential Commission Alcoa/ Suralco Steering Commission, board member Coast Guard Suriname, Session chair Regulatory Panel at the Caribbean 2021 E&P Summit, General Co-Chair Virtual Research Symposium South-East Caribbean and Guyana Basins, General Co-Chair Geosciences Technology Workshop (GTW) Suriname, Geoscience Exchange Program Ghana, Guyana and Suriname, Advisor SPESUR student chapter Suriname, Commission of Ministry of Natural Resources for setting up Mineral Institution, Organizing Committee Energy Opportunities, Columbia, Organize Training “Discovering New Gold Deposits” by Dr Richard Goldfarb, General Co-Chair Geosciences Technology Workshop (GTW) Guyana, 3 terms HOD American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG)/ assisted in setting up and Advisor of a student chapters as well as Young Professional chapter of the AAPG in Suriname, Advisor AAPG student chapter Suriname, Council of Advice (RVA) Agricultural Cooperation Phedra, Chair Society of Mining Engineers and Geologists in Suriname (VMGS)

Clyde is also a lecturer at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname and the FHR Schools of Higher Education. Also, he serves as the Chair of the Geological and Mining Society of Suriname and delegate to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Latin America and Caribbean Region, as well as Faculty advisor of the AAPG and SPE student chapter at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname.

BIOGRAPHY Janine Jadnanansing

Janine Jadnanansing is Commercial Director of the Beta Group N.V., a renowned energy service provider for the oil, mining & utility sector. Founded by her father Rudi Jadnanansing in 1987 as a sole proprietor business, deploying around 100 FTE today.

Indicative to their family enterprise is choosing people over profit and feeling the accountability to provide an economic opportunity to the community, particularly in terms of employment.

She studied business engineering in the Netherlands and gained experience in various industries, including oil & gas. During her time at Shell, she volunteered as the Chairwoman of the Diversity & Inclusiveness team.

Her father, a progressive man, encourages her to enact from her position as woman in the family business to change the status quo of gender equality, women’s empowerment and those who are lowest on the economic ladder. They both feel the moral obligation to change things that do not work in favor of social and economic welfare. Dreams of prosperity for SME in Suriname have now become reality, thanks to the current developments and leaders that have promised dedication towards economic stability and a clean energy future.
