The Suriname Energy Chamber ( SEC) consists of a multidiscipline team of enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative members that sees a bright energy future for the country of Suriname. Our success is based upon a simple formula that sustainability of any energy based endeavor is based upon cooperation and collaboration from both the Private and Public sector.
The Suriname Energy Chamber (SEC) acts as a national platform for the energy sector. Hereto, it fills in the public space for discussion, research, and business development with respect to energy development and transition.
It is a multidisciplinary platform for companies, civil society,Government, financial institutions, multilateral organizations, small and medium enterprises,foreign companies and multinationals to develop, coordinate, and deploy innovative long-term energy transition strategies that are given shape through concrete outings.
The SEC is a reliable partner and a Center of Excellence with respect to structure, knowledge and process-based approaches regarding the development of the local energy sector. In the face of the economic turmoil we envision that Suriname has a fully realized sustainable energy system which attracts healthy investments and adds to a just society through inclusion and equal opportunities. The SEC plays a pioneering frontier role in the transition towards this end.

Orlando Olmberg
Business owner/ Renewable energy specialist/ Social Entrepreneurship
Orlando Olmberg is the president and founder of the Suriname Energy Chamber (SEC). He was born in Suriname on the first of may 1970 and is the proud father of 3 daughters and a son.
Orando is the co-founder of a solar engineering company named Guguplex Technologies SAC. In 2012 the company won a project from the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) to accelerate the use of Solar Energy in Suriname. This project ended with a score of Excellence two years later and a fundamental growth in solar energy in Suriname.
Janine Jadnanansing
Business owner
Janine Jadnanansing is Commercial Director of the Beta Group N.V., a renowned energy service provider for the oil, mining & utility sector. Founded by her father Rudi Jadnanansing in 1987 as a sole proprietor business, deploying around 100 FTE today.
Indicative to their family enterprise is choosing people over profit and feeling the accountability to provide an economic opportunity to the community, particularly in terms of employment.
Daniël A. Lachman
(Renewable) Energy strategy and business models
Daniël A. Lachman has gained experience in several upper/top management positions in the food, industrial and medical gases, metals and mining, education, and business & country consulting industry in various countries, and has managed workforces up to a couple hundred people and assets close to 1 billion USD in value, and chaired various strategic commissions, such as aluminum industry, tourism development and regional industrial policy.
Mavrick Boejoekoe
Specialist in social economic development in PPP
From 2012 to 2017 Mr. Mavrick Boejoekoe was the District Commissioner responsible for the strategic leadership of an area of the district of Sipaliwinie, Suriname. He has over eight years of experience working in the central and local government in Suriname. In 2016 he founded the Youth Education and Leadership Foundation. In 2018 he was selected to represent Suriname in the Humphrey program were he focused on international development and did his professional affiliation at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
Clyde Griffith
Consultant Specialized in Oil & Gas
Clyde has more than 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry and more than 10 years of experience in the Mining industry in Suriname. He is currently an independent consultant focused on Upstream Oil/ Gas, Mining and Logistics. He has a master’s degree in Petroleum Geology and an MBA in Leadership and Management.

Peter Donk, born second of may 1981, started his professional career in 2006 at the National Power Utility Company of Suriname (N.V. Energiebedrijven Suriname) and is currently positioned in the Executive Management. With over 15 years of experience in the power utility sector, Energy Efficiency (Energy Management) and Renewable Energy Technology (Sustainable Energy) are his focus areas.
