– TotalEnergies EP Suriname B.V. (TEEPSR) and the Suriname Energy Chamber (SEC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during SEOGS 2025. This partnership, formalized at the TotalEnergies exhibition booth, marks a significant step in the continued development of Suriname’s energy sector.
The collaboration focuses on joint projects involving data sharing, education, and energy awareness within Suriname. The primary goal is to strengthen local expertise and engage the community in the nation’s energy transition.
This partnership comes at a notable time, as TEEPSR celebrates its fifth year of active operations in Suriname. With this MOU, the company underscores its long-term commitment to Surinamese society.
Orlando Olmberg, Chairman of the Suriname Energy Chamber, and Arthur Nunes da Silva, Chair of TotalEnergies Suriname, officially signed the memorandum of understanding on Wednesday during the Suriname Energy Oil and Gas Summit and Exhibition.
Nunes da Silva emphasized that the signing is framed by collaboration and aims to expand study opportunities for Surinamese entrepreneurs, and raise awareness within both the community and the business sector. He stated, “We ensure that information about the oil and gas industry is shared with everyone.”
Nunes da Silva also highlighted that this collaboration extends beyond just TotalEnergies and the Suriname Energy Chamber. He mentioned the involvement of other companies, stressing that it’s about a “larger whole that must certainly be continued.”
